Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Scholified ("we," "us," or "our") operates scholified.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored securely; we never store passwords in plain text)
- Profile information you provide voluntarily to improve scholarship matching: academic level, field of study, background, financial information you choose to share, interests, and goals
- Usage data: pages visited, scholarships viewed and saved, and application tracker activity, used to operate and improve the Service
- Documents you upload (such as transcripts or recommendation letters) in connection with a specific application, stored securely and associated only with that application
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information, collected automatically for security and analytics purposes
How We Use Information
- To match you with scholarships you may be eligible for
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service
- To send deadline reminders and account-related communications you opt into
- To respond to support requests and reported issues
- To measure and improve outcomes for our institutional partners (schools and counselors), using aggregated and de-identified data wherever possible
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers
- We do not share your profile data with scholarship providers without your explicit, specific consent for that scholarship
- We do not use your uploaded documents (transcripts, letters, essays) to train AI models without your separate, explicit consent
Students Under 18 and School Partnerships
Scholified is used by high-school-age students, some of whom are minors. Where Scholified is offered through a school or counselor partnership, that school remains responsible for any consent required under applicable state or federal student-privacy law (including FERPA, where applicable) before student data is shared with us. We act as a service provider to the school in that context and use student data only to provide the Service, not for independent commercial purposes.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security review. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights and Choices
- You can access, correct, or delete your profile information at any time from your account settings
- You can delete your account entirely, which permanently removes your profile, tracker data, and saved scholarships
- You can opt out of non-essential email communications at any time
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the GDPR
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves. We will notify users of material changes by email or through a notice on the Service.
